The earth's inspiration as one of the staples of his art imerges from Hobor by virtue of the fact that it answers to his interest in archeology. He is fascinated by choice preserved traces of civilisation.

Hobor makes no effort to re-create stylized reality, but rather to out-right express his emotions, his feelings to nature, to earth. He manifest a rare touch for the great peaceful substance of stone, and in such gave life to his harmonic, sculptive mind. The need to simplify and to clean up his art led Hobor to more compact work from massive blocks, which discreetly alluded to specific themes. Although the objects lie on the border of abstractness, they never lose contact with nature's inspiration.

Born in 1959 in Presov, Slovakia

• 1974-78 studied at the Secondary School of Applied Arts in Bratislava, the branch of monumental masonry
• 1979-85 studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava, the branch of conservator
• Since 1985 has been teaching at the Secondary School of Applied Arts in Bratislava
